Discover all the benefits of HP Indigo digital printing.

Do you want to discover everything HP Indigo digital printing can do for you?
If, as we suspect, you’ve never wondered what it means to print with HP Indigo digital printing technology, you might not be aware of all the advantages it can offer.
Thanks to a fully digital process, HP Indigo allows for variable data printing and shorter runs, always with a strong focus on environmental sustainability. This printer uses a special type of color digital printing called Liquid Electrophotography (LEP), in which ink particles are positioned with extreme precision on a digital plate at 120 mL/m. Let’s look at the main features of this technology.
Thermal offset transfer
At the heart of LEP technology is the thermal offset transfer process. “Offset” implies the presence of an intermediate transfer element, wrapped in a blanket. During this process, very thin layers of ink are dried on the blanket rather than directly on the printing substrate, which remains insulated from heat and moisture stress.
ElectroInk
The HP Indigo printer uses ElectroInk, a special electrically charged liquid ink that allows precise placement on the photoconductive plate. This ensures that print quality and performance are technically independent of the pigment itself, enabling the development of the widest range of inks available in the digital printing sector.
Direct contact
Unlike inkjet technology, where ink is sprayed through the air, LEP transfers ink through direct contact throughout the process. This ensures that ElectroInk is always precisely controlled. Direct contact also works in synergy with thermal offset transfer, guaranteeing maximum quality and versatility even at the highest speeds.
